The Sitka U.S. Post Office and Court House, also known as Sitka Post Office and Sitka City Hall, is a Moderne style building was built in 1938.[1]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.[1]
It is across the street from the Sitka Pioneers Home, near to the American Flag Raising Site, and near to other NRHP-listed buildings.[2]
There was "widespread opposition in the community" but the post office was moved in 1986 to a location outside the city center.[2]:13
